Lodging:
(1) The lodging fee is 300 yen: a set of 2 bed sheets
and 1 pillow case)\Renew them at least every 3 nights; please pay additional
300 yen for every replacement. Note: If the number of participants under the age of 30 is less than
half the total number, an additional 800 yen will be charged per person per
night; this is a new regulation of the facility. We will inform you the result
as soon as after the preregistration deadline, August 2nd. Please make your payment
afterwards.
(2)
There
will be Menfs Cabin, Womenfs Cabin and Family Cabin. Family Cabin will be only
for families with very small children. (Availability of Family Cabin is subject
to coordination by the facility; it will be known towards the end of July after
the facilityfs coordination)
(3)
Camping
is also available at the camp site of the Shizen no Ie. If you wish this
option, indicate so in the registration form.
(4)
Bathing:
A shared bath. The bath time will be announced each day after the leadersf
meeting at 4:30pm (the bath will close at 10:00pm). Only shower is available in
the morning. There is a private shower room in some of the laundry/toilet
houses near cabins. Check the location and borrow a key from the management
building before using.
(5)
There
are laundry facilities in each cabin or near your cabin. They are free to use
but you will need your own detergent.
(6)
No food
or drink is allowed in cabins.
(7)
If you
prefer more privacy, try hotels in Yamaguchi City (e.g., Yuda Onsen hot spa
area, about 40 min. driving). Search on the Net.
6.
Meals:
(1) Meals will be served in a self-serviced
buffet-style.
(2) Meal costs are as
follows:
Breakfast: Pre-schoolers = 330 yen, Elementary
schoolers = 410 yen, Junior high and above= 430 yen
Lunch: Pre-schoolers = 440
yen, Elementary schoolers = 560 yen, Junior high and above= 590 yen
Supper: Pre-schoolers = 530
yen, Elementary schoolers = 670 yen, Junior high and above= 680 yen
Daily total: Pre-schoolers =
1,300 yen; Elementary = 1,640 yen; Junior & above = 1,700 yen

Please
pay for your meals in advance along with the registration and bed sheet fees.
Once the payment is made, cancellation/change cannot be made.
(4)
There
will be vending machines for drinks and ice creams.
(5)
Shizen
no Ie is located on top of a mountain, so the closest store is at least 20
minutesf driving.
7.
Notes
(1)
Please
all participants sign up for at least one service task during the stay: class
facilitators, assistants, receptionists, drivers, set-up/clean-up assistants,
bookshop clerks, translators, and others.
(2)
There
may be additional charges for class materials (about 1,000 yen depending on
courses).
(3)
Some of
the indoor/outdoor facilities require fees for usage; refer to the separate
chart.

9.
How to
get to Shizen no Ie:
(1)
If
you are driving, take Chugoku Expressway and get off at Tokuchi IC (exit). Take Rt. 489 (north) for about
10km. There will be a sign for
Shizen no Ie on the right. Turn
right there and drive up the hill to the top for about 3km.
(2) If you are coming in by air via Tokyo, the
nearest Airport is Ube-Yamaguchi.
You can also fly to Fukuoka, Hiroshima or Kansai Airport. Then take a train (bullet train called
Shinkansen) and get off at Shin-Yamaguchi.
Switch to San-yo Line to get to Hofu Station. From Hofu, take a Bocho bus to Hori and
switch to a bus towards Sabagawa Dam and get off at Yashiki. From there you need be picked up by
us. Make a prior arrangement with
the Summer School Committee or call us on the cellular phone. Please do NOT call Shizen no Ie. Call
the Bahafi Summer School Committee directly (the numbers below) for help.
(3) From Hofu Station to Hori, it takes about 40 min. by
bus. Go to
Bus Terminal No. 2 and take the bus bound for uxv (Hori).
There is one bus almost every hour. But note that the schedule differs between
weekdays and the weekend. Weekdays:7:00,
7:43, 8:55, 10:35, 11:20, 13:05, 14:15, 14:30, 15:10, 16:00, 16:25, 17:30,

From Hori (x) to Yashiki (ฎ~), it takes about 20 minutes. Take the bus bound for
Yuzu-Kassei Center (M์ซZ^[) or Saba-gawa Dam (ฒg์_)F7:42, 10:35, 13:20, 15:35, 16:30, 17:35, 18:50inot running on Sun. & Holidaysj.

From Hori (x) to Hofu Station

10. Registration
(1) Pre-registration closes on August 2. The payment is
due August 9th. If there is no payment by then, the pre-registration will be
cancelled. After August 2nd, you may not be able to secure lodging space.
(2)
Registration
fees : Adults1,500
yen, youth (junior/senior high & college students)1,000 yen, children (elementary school)500 yen.
(3)
Family
discounts for registration fees:
For multiple child or junior youth participants (i.e., elementary school
or junior high school age) of the same family, counting from the youngest, the
second member will have a 50% discount, the third member and after will get a
100% discount. This applies to only the registration fee. The gsame familyh here refers to the
members of the same household sharing the living expenses.

Cancellation/change
policy: As a principle, once the payment is made, cancellation or changes
cannot be accepted.
11. Facilities at Shizen no Ie Illustration Map 1 Illustration Map 2
(1) Outdoor Recreation: Hiking, mountain-climbing,
canoeing (at Ohara Lake), disc golf, ground golf, MTB, soccer, tennis,
softball, cooking, camping, camp fire.
(2) Indoor sports: Dodge ball, volleyball, basketball,
badminton
(3) Nature watching: Star gazing, bird watching.
(4) Cultural activities: Japanese paper making, stone
art, cloisonné work, stone bath and other forms of crafts.
(5) Cafeteria: Self-serviced buffet-style; you can
choose your own dishes.
(6)
Cabins:
Fifty people can be accommodated. Bedding materials are provided (200 yen for 3
nights). Laundry machines and dryers are available (free of charge; you need to
bring your own detergent). A private shower is available in some of the
toilet/laundry houses.
